Install the relay agent on any computer at your location to stream cameras to CamCast.live — no port forwarding required.
Windows: Click the Windows download button above. When the file downloads, right-click it and select "Run as administrator". If Windows SmartScreen pops up, click "More info" then "Run anyway".
Mac: Click the Mac download button above. Double-click the downloaded file. If macOS says the file can't be opened, right-click the file and select "Open", then click "Open" again in the popup.
The installer will automatically download and install everything needed (Node.js, FFmpeg). This takes 2-3 minutes. You don't need to do anything — just wait for it to finish.
When the installer finishes, it automatically opens http://localhost:3100 in your browser. This is the CamCast Relay Manager — it runs on your computer and is only accessible from your computer.
If it doesn't open automatically, open any browser and go to: http://localhost:3100
Click the "Add Camera" tab in the Relay Manager.
Option A — Automatic Discovery: Click "Scan Network". The system will find cameras on your network automatically. Click a camera to select it.
Option B — Manual: If your camera isn't found, select your camera brand from the list (Hikvision, Reolink, Dahua, etc.) and enter the camera's IP address, username, and password.
Click "Test Connection" to verify the camera is working, then give it a name (like "Main Play Yard") and click "Save".
Your cameras are now streaming to CamCast.live. The relay agent runs in the background and automatically starts when your computer boots.
You can close the browser — the relay keeps running. To manage cameras or run diagnostics later, open http://localhost:3100 in any browser.
Camera not found during scan?
Make sure the camera is on the same network as this computer. Try adding it manually using the camera's IP address (usually printed on a label on the camera or found in your router's device list).
Test connection failed?
Check that you entered the correct password. Make sure the camera is powered on and the ethernet cable is connected. Try the Diagnostics tab for a detailed health check.
Camera shows as offline on CamCast?
Open http://localhost:3100 and click the Diagnostics tab. Click "Check All Cameras" — it will tell you exactly what's wrong in plain English.
Computer restarted and cameras aren't streaming?
The relay should auto-start. If it doesn't, double-click the installer again — it will detect the existing setup and restart the relay without reinstalling.
